Since September 2020, with its administration in Iraq and Afghanistan, Mondial Express manages four 20-tonne refrigerated-food cargos per month, leaving from different parts of Italy and shipped to national and international organizations in Erbil, Bagdad, Herat, and Kabul.
These cargos travel at -20° temperature, with satellite temperature and route tracking. These trailers are Turkish and Iraqi and belong to two of our correspondents.
The route to Iraq is via Mersin, Silopi, Habur/Zakho, with customs Ibrahim Khalil and health check at the specialized warehouse in Ismailva, around 45 kilometers South of the border. Our company oversees the stuff customs clearance in Iraq, the payment of import duties, the change of the driver (sometimes even the truck of the trailer), and it proceeds with home delivery.
For Afghanistan, the trailer goes through Azerbaijan, ships in Baku (Caspian Sea), disembarks in Turkmenbashi (Turkmenistan) and enters Afghanistan in Tourghundi, at around 1900 meters of altitude, with understandable problems of driving conditions due to snow and ice in winter. Customs clearance takes place on the border and Mondial Express Group pays import duties and goes again towards its destination.
